Hello! My friends and I are of the ages 16 and 17 and we were looking for a place to learn how to Swing Dance. Will the Sunday class be open to us? Thank you!

Lia, We would love to have a young group of friends join our dance classes! You are more than welcome to go to Koloa and check it out. Unfortunately these lessons will not be for beginners but you could watch and try out the steps. This is West Coast Swing, very different from East Coast Swing. You can youtube WCS and watch the pros dance. It’s not as fast as ECS but a super fun dance that can be danced to contemporary music. If you would like to be on our mailing list, email kauaidancing@gmail.com. Then you would know when the beginning classes are starting.

Erik, I’m so sorry this happened to you. The room is kind of hard to find and I don’t even know if it has an address. Find the gymnasium in Kilauea (down the street from Kong Lung, and The Bistro), park in that parking lot and head to the left side of the building. You will find a low, long building next to it and the class is in the room furthest away from the gym. This long building is behind the Kilauea Market and theater. Don’t worry about missing the first class. Someone will be there to help you.

If you’d like to be on our dance email list, send me your email address at kauaidancing@gmail.com and I will include you. I send out a dance email every Saturday. Have fun.

    Rae-Marie

    Hi,
I am new on the island and failed to find the Kilauea Neighborhood Center for the new West Coast Swing lesson series. Found two sites either labeled that or called that by people I asked, but did not find the class. Can you post the street address and maybe I’ll find it next time?
